The important thing though, is that I ran for about 100m. It made my hamstring hurt, the one I pulled a long time ago.

Walking
I didn't walk nearly as far today as yesterday. But since yesterday rolled across midnight my pedometer shows some of yesterday on today so it looks like I walked more today. I suppose, technically, I did walk more today, just with about 20 hours between parts of it.
I Need To Do This More
I'm not very good at updating this much. My last few posts have been "what has been happening since I last posted" post, and guess what this post will be?
I'm lifting weights again. I'm still bad at overhead presses. I can't do 5 sets of 5 overhead presses at 85#. So we are lingering at 85# until I can do all my sets, then we will go up to 90#. I'm expecting to make it tomorrow. On Wednesday I did 3 sets of 5 and 2 sets of 3.
I haven't done purposeful walking in quite a while, but I have these past few days. It is with +Eric Beckstead. I can supposedly link his profile there, but it doesn't let me.
I don't have much patience for Eric's problems anymore, and so the walking will last only as long as the problems are subsided.
My weight had been way down, but it has crept up again. I'm not really sure how high up, and not is a bad time to weight myself since I bought 8 quarts of food at 328 Chinese recently. I'm almost through eating it. Once that is done, normal weight loss can carry on.
I want to go backpacking. I just don't want to go alone, it's dangerous, and no one will give me a sword.

Since I was last here...
Since my last time writing, I've done a lot. I've walked a lot. But I lost my pedometer, so I lost track of steps. A GPS told me that I did quite a bit, but I didn't bother to download the track logs since they are a pain to download. The longest day was just about 10 miles West on Highway 60. Well, five one way, five back. The uphill five took 2 hours, the downhill five took an hour and a half. It was a little bit too far to have gone, but I was mostly fine the next day.
I bought a new pedometer, and then, the next day, Amazon Vine offered me a free pedometer in exchange for a review. Oh well.
My ten miles walk was still a mile short of Box Canyon. Box Canyon is a goal. I need to go back and make it again. I haven't walked there since sometime in the late 1980s. I need to bicycle there again too. It has also been a while since I did that.

Long time no post...
Things went poorly for me at the same time things got better. Through it all, I've done nothing for about five months. I did keep up the weightlifting for a while, but even that collapsed.
But for more than half a week now, I've been back to walking.

Sick!
Just before Halloween I got sick. Very sick. This is notable because I used to get sick a lot before Death By Mountain, but after working on diet and exercise my susceptibility to sickness had nearly vanished. In the grand scheme of things I wasn't nearly as sick as I used to be, but I was sick for a long time. I was miserable for most of a week, bedridden for a day, and still coughing two weeks later (which is today).
My daily walking has plummeted. Just before getting sick I had been pumping out 10k steps per day, but while being sick I've averaged only a few thousand. I hope to rectify that soon.
My weight seems to be easily kept at 15 pounds lighter than what it used to be. With more care and more exercise I should be able to bring it down even more.
Weight lifting hasn't been going well for me. I hurt one of my hamstring attachments, and that is preventing a lot of progress for me. Being sick has also hurt me a lot.
Oh well. Life goes on.

Running
My attempts to run earlier this year met with dismal failure. Even the few hundred yards at a time I attempted in couch to 5k were unsustainable.
Yesterday, to kill time, I was going to walk around Clark Field a few times. Instead, I started running around it. I ran around it four times without stopping. I did the same run tonight.
Things are looking up!
